UI Health Care is hosting a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, in the Divine Nine Room (337) of the Iowa Memorial Union. Help the University of Iowa win the We Give Blood Drive, sponsored by Abbott and the Big Ten Conference. The school with the most donations between Aug. 27 and Dec. 5 will win $1 million towards student and community health!

When donating, remember to:

  • Provide a photo ID

  • Drink plenty of fluids and have a good meal before you donate

  • Be free of cold or flu symptoms for five days

  • Bring a list of the medications you take

  • Bring a list of the places and dates you have traveled outside the U.S. within the last three year

Whole blood donations take about 45 to 60 minutes.
