The Multidisciplinary Breast Fellowship offers 1 position each year. Information regarding the 2026 Breast Match will be available in November 2025 for interested applicants.
The Breast Surgery Fellowship participates in the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) Breast Oncology Fellowship Match Program. Beginning with the 2021 Match, the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) has contracted with National Matching Services, Inc (NMS) to facilitate their Match.
Fellows graduating in good standing will receive documentation of having successfully completed an SSO certified breast fellowship.

Licensure Requirements
- Apply for an Iowa medical license before training begins
- Board-eligible applicants need to apply for a permanent license
Application Process
- Applications must be completed and submitted via National Matching Services
Interview Process
- Interview invitations will go out on the SSO approved date
- Interviews take place in-person
- If selected, each candidate will pick their interview day from 2 provided dates and sign-up is on a first-come, first served basis.
- The evening before each interview date, the program will host a dinner at a local venue for faculty and applicants to socialize.
