Five University of Iowa Department of Surgery faculty members have been promoted in recognition of their excellence in patient care, education, research and service.
The promoted faculty members are:

Natalie S. Weger, D.O., RVT, RPVI
Division of Vascular Surgery, Promoted from Clinical Assistant Professor
Lillian M. Erdahl, MD, FACS
Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery, Promoted from Clinical Associate Professor

Faculty promotions recognize sustained achievement and excellence across the institution's missions of clinical care, education, research and service. Promotion in academic medicine reflects a faculty member's professional growth, leadership and impact within their field.
The five promoted faculty members represent a broad range of surgical specialties across the department. Their work spans cancer care, endocrine surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and vascular surgery, while also contributing to the education of medical students, residents and fellows and advancing innovation through research and scholarship.
