The Research Associate will work as a member of the research team supporting Dr. Vikas Dudeja's Surgical Oncology research program through the Department of Surgery at the University of Iowa Health Care. Responsibilities include support for research by conducting experiments, investigations, and/or evaluations; collecting and analyzing data and performing operational duties associated with the laboratory; and other research related actions and duties.

Research Support Manager - Dept of Surgery

The Research Support Manager handles all aspects of the research mission for the Department of Surgery, covering pre- and post-grant award processes; managing the sponsor-funded, internally-funded research projects and research commitments as part of start-up funding, bridge funding, or research incentive funding; providing administrative supervision to lab staff and other research support personnel; and assisting with onboarding by requesting appropriate access to labs, shared files, and system programs, approving payroll and time off requests, overseeing compliances, and processing tuition payments as needed. This position will determine the need for additional research staff and the availability of funding and will sit as a member of search committees when positions are posted.
